How To: VMWare ESXi5 Basic setup

I’m going to show the quick and easy installation of VMWare’s hypervisor, in this case ESXi5. ESXi5 is the foundation to building a cloud platform. This is a bare metal hypervisor which means it installs directly onto the host machines hardware. You may need to check compatibility but in most instances it will install on any machine so long as the minimum requirements are met. You can find specific answers and helpful links on the VMWare site and elsewhere fully explaining its features. The current FAQ is located here.

Lets get started.

Baldinos Jersey Subs

Baldinos is a quality sub shop based out of Georgia. The location I frequent is located off Buford Highway about 1/2 mile outside the perimeter. Today I tried their trademarked cheese steak with everything. It was good, not the best I’ve ever had, but better than most.

The “cheesesteak with everything” includes cheese, mushrooms, peppers, onions, lettuce, tomato, and oil & vinegar. I’m not typically a fan of the cold sub add-ons but on this sandwich its a must. The bread is baked in-house and is fantastic. If there is a franchise near you I suggest trying it out. The cold subs are some of the best around.

XBMC for Windows 7 PC: how to

XBMC is a great multi-platform media center program. It can run on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and the old XBOX1. XBMC is highly customizable, plays nearly every type of media file, and users can install add-ons for nearly every conceivable function or feature they would want a media center to perform. One of my favorite features is that XBMC keeps track of what you watch and when you stopped watching. Smart Playlists are another great way to keep track of an ever growing media collection. Recently I’ve been enjoying the growing list of media streaming add-ons. I could go on and on for days so lets just cut to the installation process.
